To the Trauma Healing Project Community,

I am a psychology professor at the University of Oregon. I am writing to
request your help recruiting some kids+guardians for a study we are doing on
the impact of stress on children.

With IRB approval, we recently changed our flyer to increase the amount of
payment to $15 and provide information about the types of assessments we do.
I am attaching a new version of this flyer. If there is any way we could
get your help posting this in your location we would be grateful. We can
mail hard copies of the flier or even send a student over to hand post them.
A note with contact information from the grad students running the study is
pasted below.

Thanks so much!

JJF

To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Annmarie Hulette, and my colleague, Laura Kaehler, and I are
recruiting participants through June 2008 for a study at the University
of Oregon involving children ages 7-8 and their parents. We would
greatly appreciate the opportunity to advertise our study at your
location, as we are looking for participants who have experienced
stressful life events.

We are interested in the effects of stressful life events on children's
memory and social-emotional functioning. To examine this, parents and
children will complete questionnaires and assessments during a 90 minute
session. Families will be compensated with $15 and a small toy for their
time. We maintain high standards of confidentiality, and thus
participants' names will not be attached to the information we collect.

Attached please find a copy of the recruitment flier; we would also be
happy to send hard copies for distribution. If you have any specific
questions, you may contact Annmarie at 541-346-4963/acholank at uoregon.edu
or Laura at 541-346-3936/lkaehler at uoregon.edu.

If you are aware of eligible participants, they may contact our
confidential recruitment line directly at 541-346-7749.

Thank you for your consideration!

Best,
Annmarie Hulette, M.S.
Laura Kaehler, M.S.
