Hi all-
Prevention in Lane County is not dead!
So come network and discuss our definitely-not-dead shared interest in raising Lane County youth to be healthy and well, safe from violence, addiction, unintended pregnancy, STIs, and all the other pitfalls of adolescence.
Thursday, June 19th 8:30-9:30am
Hilton Hotel (Eugene, 6th and Willamette) First Floor Restaurant (coffee and breakfast optional)
(featuring the lovely and vivacious Kathryn Henderson, from Lane ESD, who promises to be there with bells on)
I'd like to share a little about projects I've been involved with this year, including sex education, infant and toddler child care, alcohol and drug prevention, AmeriCorps, positive youth development and much more. But I won't! Because we all want to hear about what's been going on in all of our various domains. But I might tell you a little teeny bit.
The point is to know what is going on the community of prevention/positive youth development and form alliances to help each other. Hopefully to avoid duplication & repeating the same old mistakes, and, most importantly, encourage one another to keep fighting the good fight (or, non-violently resisting the forces of destruction...)
RSVP -- last time I was sadly drinking coffee by myself and reading about early childhood development. Come with one or two things to share in round table and your business cards!
Rose
(P.S. Please invite someone leading a program/service in prevention or positive youth development)
